Vocation as Ministry: Ideas for Creating Client and Team Building Ministry Opportunities

The difference between a Christian financial advisor, and a financial advisor who is a Christian, is that the financial advisor who is a Christian may see their job as a means to an end (ministry), whereas to the Christian financial advisor, the vocation is the end (the ministry). In this session, two advisors will share their ideas on how they created two different, successful client events and one missions experience for fellow employees, deepening relationships while Christ Jesus.

About Jo Ann Remender

Jo Ann Remender has been with The Salvation Army Indiana Division for 31 years. During this time she has held a wide variety of ministry positions. JoAnn started her work with The Salvation Army in Youth Ministry as the Eagle Creek Community Center Director and then as the Indiana Youth Resources Coordinator. From there she became the Assistant Development Department Director, and then transitioned to become the Indiana Emergency Disaster Response Director. After serving as a Chaplin at the Medical Examiner’s Office in New York as a result of the 9/11 attacks, she founded “Operation Compassion From The Homefront.” This program has supported over 100,000 troops with care packages from the Salvation Army Indiana Division. Currently, Jo Ann is the Gift & Estate Planning Director where she has the opportunity to share first hand with donors how the Lord is working through The Salvation Army to bring the love of Christ Jesus to a hurting world.
